A Fruitful Week, With Hokkien Songs!

  • "lang zi" or not, i was certainly a very happy person last week, with nice things/activities happening everyday, making it a fruitful week. hmm... let me recount the week from the weekend right back to the beginning of the week. i attended two good friends' wedding ceremony, celebrated birthday of another good friend, visited the marvelous newly opened marina barrage, played table tennis with my colleagues, attended company DnD, and attended a non-sports event at Singapore Indoor Stadium for the first time in my life!
  • last monday's visit to SIS was certainly not my first time there, but previous trips there were all to catch sporting action, namely table tennis and badminton. on 27oct2008, i made my debut there for a non-sports event finally! it was a concert...
  • its Judy Ongg's concert. so happy to hear her sing 《海鸥》live in person, and hokkien songs as well. i suppose it may be unlike someone whos before his thirties to like hokkien songs, but somehow i just get a very relaxed and laid-back feeling whenever i listen to them, even if they are those sung by pop singers like 五月天. and i find the lyrics of most hokkien songs very meaningful. i memorised the lyrics and learned my first hokkien song 《爱拼才会赢》when i was 16. to this day, i will often still sing this motivational song to myself.

I enjoy listening to 97.2 every morning. Enjoy MARCUS CHIN hosting the show. Sorry to say that this few morning I switch to 100.3 instead as I cannot stand the way Jianrong you host the show and your voice. I wonder how come you can be a DJ, sorry about that. Unless Marcus return, if not I will not tune in to 97.2 anymore in the morning.

    Hi Jianrong,

I think you have great potential in being a DJ. You are the funniest "student" in the Ying Tao Gu Shi Bang. Keep up the good work!
